Will I get a refund if I cancel my car insurance?

Within the first 14 days of your policy:

If you cancel your 1ST CENTRAL policy within 14 days (known as the ‘cooling-off' period) you’ll receive a pro-rata refund, meaning you’ll be charged for the amount of time we’ve covered you for, provided no claim has been made and you’ve not been involved in an incident which might give rise to a claim under the policy. We’ll also retain the set-up fee of £50. Any optional extras (e.g. Legal Expenses Cover or Personal Accident Cover) you’ve purchased will be refunded in full if you’ve not made a claim against them.

 

After 14 days:

If you cancel your 1ST CENTRAL policy after 14 days, you’ll receive a pro-rata refund, meaning you’ll be charged for the amount of time we’ve covered you for, provided no claim has been made and you’ve not been involved in an incident which might give rise to a claim under the policy. We’ll retain the set-up fee of £50 and also charge a cancellation fee of £50. Please note that after 14 days, any optional extras (e.g. Legal Expenses Cover or Personal Accident Cover) are non-refundable.
