What's the difference between buildings and contents insurance?

Buildings Insurance protects the physical structure of your home, including the floors, walls, windows, doors, ceilings, and roof. It also covers fixtures and fittings such as kitchen and bathroom units.

Contents Insurance, on the other hand, covers your personal belongings inside the home. This includes items like furniture, electronics, clothing, and jewellery- basically, everything that isn't part of the building itself. Imagine what would fall out if you turned your home upside down.

If your belongings are damaged or lost due to an insured event, such as fire, flood, or theft, Contents Insurance will help cover the cost of repairs or replacements.
