What is a car modification?
A modification is any change made to a car that wasn’t part of it when it was first wheeled out of the factory. If you’re buying your car second hand, make sure you ask the previous owner if they’ve made changes. These can be anything from how the car looks (stickers, badges, paint changes or wraps) or things that change the performance of the car, like non-standard exhausts or engine upgrades.
If you’re thinking of buying a new policy or changing the car we already insure, it’s important to know that we only accept some modifications. Please let us know before you buy either over the phone, or if you’re online, simply select from the list of modifications when getting your quote.
If you don’t tell us about a modification, any claim you make might not be covered and we could void your policy.
