What is Key Assist?
We don’t want you to be stuck without your car, which is why we provide Key Assist cover to all of our customers.
If your keys have been lost, stolen or damaged by accidental means, all you need to do is call our dedicated team on 0333 241 3390 or contact us online to let us know what’s happened and we’ll be happy to help.
Please note keys damaged over time considered to be wear and tear or general maintenance of insured car keys or locks are not included as part of this cover
What am I covered for?
With our Key Assist cover, you'll be covered for any of the below:
- Replacement of keys when lost, stolen or accidentally damaged (including immobiliser, infra-red handset or alarm if it can’t be reprogrammed)
- All your car, home and office keys on your keyring
- Locksmith charges
- New locks if it's determined that your key claim represents a security risk
- If your car is unusable, up to 3 days' car hire at £50 per day while your keys are being replaced
- Multiple claims across the policy term, totalling £1,500 per period of insurance
- Claims up to £100 where the keys are locked inside a property or vehicle or broken in the lock or ignition
Don't worry, a key claim won’t show as a claim and won’t impact your No Claims Discount on your main motor policy.
What isn’t covered?
With our Key Assist cover, you aren't covered for any of the below:
- Claims in excess of the total limit of £1,500 per policy term
- Any claims made within 48 hours of the start of the policy
- Keys damaged over time by wear and tear or general maintenance of insured cars keys or locks
- Losses reported to us after 30 days from the incident
- Keys that are lost or stolen while in someone else's possession
