Can I re-instate my car insurance if it was cancelled due to my direct debits not being paid?

No, we won’t be able to reinstate your policy if it was cancelled due to non-payment.

Following cancellation of your policy, we’ll calculate the appropriate and confirm to you in writing if a refund is due to you or indeed if we require you to make a payment for any remaining outstanding balance.

If a refund is due, we aim to refund back to the card that was used to set up the policy.

If the card has expired, and bank details are available, we’ll process the refund via a bank transfer (BACS).

It may take up to 10 days for the refund to appear.

If we don’t hold your bank details on the system, a refund cheque will be sent to the policy address.

There may be instances where further proof is required to ensure the refund is processed to the correct person.

Any outstanding balance can be paid online at 1stcentralinsurance.com/payment or by calling our Instalment Enquiries team.

Please note, failure to settle any outstanding balance by the due date may result in further action being taken. This may include your account being transferred to a Debt Collection Agency and details of any late/non-payments being reflected on your credit file.
