Why haven't I met your criteria for credit?

We're required to undertake creditworthiness assessments relating to our customers' ability to pay by monthly instalments as part of wider affordability considerations. As a responsible lender of credit, we complete this assessment at sale, when a policy is renewed, or when changes are made to a policy. We use set criteria for making this decision.

We use information obtained from Experian, and that you provide us, to assess your creditworthiness and suitability for the financial product. If we've declined you credit, then our assessment has concluded that you unfortunately don't meet our criteria and the product isn't suitable for you. This is likely to be because our assessment has determined you may be unable to afford the monthly instalments.

For more information, please see our Privacy Policy. We're not required to disclose our criteria, however, if you'd like to understand the data we've used in our decision, please visit www.experian.co.uk/crain.
