My details have been used fraudulently on an insurance policy what do I do?
Whilst we do everything we can to prevent fraudsters, ID theft can happen. If your details have been used by a fraudster, we’ll do everything we can to protect you. Below, you'll find answers to some of the questions you may have if you’ve been impacted by ID theft.

Report the Identity theft to Action Fraud UK, which is a reporting centre for cyber-crime and fraud. By reporting this it helps us to confirm this is a case of identity theft and enables for Action Fraud to build intelligence relating to fraud allowing law enforcement to link other cases together.
How have my details been taken? Fraudsters steal people’s information from several sources; including stolen mail, the dark web and exploiting information posted on social media.
- Don't give your personal information to anyone unless you know who's asking for it
- If you're unsure where an email, text or call has come from, contact the organisation directly
- Be sure to shred any paper documents with your personal details on
- If you use social media, review your privacy settings to make sure that only people you want to see your information have access to it.
